    A Testimony of God’s Grace

After 27 years of marriage, my wife decided she didn’t want to be married anymore. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I couldn’t believe I was hearing these words.

I was serving as the lead pastor at a local Baptist church. The church was growing but my marriage was in crisis. I had no place to turn. I didn’t know who I could trust. I wasn’t sure that I could share this with anyone.

I’d love to tell you that God intervened and healed our marriage but that is not the case. My wife filed for divorce. I never felt so lost. I was left without my wife, wondering, what would happen to my family, and what would I do, where would I work, how would we live, how would I survive?

Thank God for a ministry like Care for Pastors. This is a safety net for those in ministry. Care for Pastors provides a safe place of love, acceptance, understanding, and support. The TRUTH of God’s Word, His grace, love, and forgiveness are kept on the front line of counseling. Pastors and their families who are suffering don’t need to suffer alone. They can experience the amazing grace and unfailing love of God through the ministry of Care for Pastors.

Whether it’s marital conflicts, empathy fatigue, church struggles, sexual brokenness, or leadership burnout, pastors and their families have a place, a safe place, to turn.

Now, I’m working with Care for Pastors to offer this same hope, help, and healing to others. It has been amazing to see how God brought me full circle and placed me on staff working with Ron and Rodetta Cook and the fantastic team at Care for Pastors.

Now, perhaps, we can help others avoid crises. Care for Pastors provides Preventative Care. The purpose of Preventative Care is to offer coaching and encouragement to pastors and their spouses before they need more intensive care.
