Love protects. Love includes. Love does not condemn. Love honors. Love lifts. Love shows kindness. Love puts others first. Love does not lie, manipulate, or abandon. Love saves, rescues, and guards. Love is patient. Love is not rude or self-seeking. Love doesn’t steal or keep score. Love never dies. Love never ends.
Some people will dump you for any old reason. But not God. He will put up with you forever, if you let Him!
Some people will support you as long as you say and do the right things. God will support you through thick and thin.
Some people will walk out and write you off like they do their taxes. Not God. He writes your name on His palm and He claims you as His own—taxes and all.
Some people will see you as competition and try to snuff you out, make you feel small. God will cheer you on and remind you that you are His!
Some people have heard certain things about you which causes them to turn away. God will steer right into the mess. Your mess.
Some people will shame you and remind you of your sins and shortcomings. God says, “You are forgiven and I have cast them as far as the east is from the west”.
Don’t expect people to love you like God loves you. They won’t. They can’t. They’re just humans who sometimes don’t know any better. Their minds and sin won’t let them fully accept you, because they’re limited in their thinking. Limited in their ability to love. Limited just like you are. Don’t look at people and expect them to fulfill you. Don’t grab a hold of people and expect them to complete you. They never can and they never will. Only God, who is LOVE can complete you, fill you, make your cup run over. Only God. Stop focusing on people who are just as limited and imperfect as you are! Focus on the Unlimited, all knowing, all Loving Father God. Make Him your aim, your target, your everything!
