Rodetta Cook has been a pastor’s wife for over 40 years. She and her husband, Ron, have actively served the Lord together in ministry during the entire time and are co-founders of Care for Pastors. She understands the expectations, loneliness and how hard it is to find balance in ministry as a pastor’s wife. Rodetta also leads the pastor’s wives initiative at Care for Pastors called The Confidante and ministers to hundreds of wives each week. She strives to share blogs with other pastors’ wives that will help them in their ministry walk.

    We “Beelong” Together (Part 2)

    Monday, October 28, 2019

I would like to share another testimony from our Confidante Retreat in hopes it will encourage you to attend next year. We will be sending out information on dates and location soon.

“My first experience with Care for Pastors and, specifically, the Confidante Retreat was this last September 2019. I went into the weekend with the only expectation of resting for a few hours each day in my hotel room and getting a “word” from our organized time together. I walked away with a much richer experience than my expectations!

Meeting other pastors’ wives in various ministry stages of life and hearing their stories, gleaning from their wisdom, and making friends with fellow sisters in Christ was extremely refreshing and insightful as I look into the future of ministry and the ministry of motherhood.

I highly recommend taking this time away to recharge and rest, connect and share in this precious time with sisters who understand the specific point of view and role of a pastor’s wife. I look forward to next year!”

    – Brooke

This young pastor’s wife heard about our retreat from a friend and was not a member of our private FB group for pastors’ wives. So she came to the Retreat not really knowing anyone. All but 3 ladies had been a part of the FB group and came feeling like they knew each other even though they only met virtually. I am thankful Brooke came without any experience or knowledge of our ministry and left feeling encouraged and refreshed.

Ladies, the purpose in our retreats is to keep them small so you can connect with other wives you can relate to and who understand what you are going through. The position we hold as pastors’ wives is a very unique position and it is so important for us to have those relationships with other wives.

We are here to walk with you on your ministry journey. If you are not a part of our private FB group, please join us and let us encourage you and pray for you. www.facebook.com/groups/theconfidante.

Help us continue providing resources of care for pastors and their families.
