    Warriors Advance

    Good Morning Sweet Friends.

Today’s word of encouragement is “Advance”!

“With your help I can advance against a troop; with my God I can scale a wall.”  (2 Samuel 22:30)

My husband has preached and pastored for more than twenty years. In addition, he has planned a number of men’s weekend events. I used to laugh because he calls them an “advance”. He says, “If you women want to ‘retreat’, then go ahead. But warriors ADVANCE.”

When I follow what he is saying to its logical (thank you, David) end, however, he’s absolutely right: Warriors ADVANCE. When you and I embrace our calling and purpose in Christ, we absolutely can move forward with confidence. Why? Because our Commander has not led us to a wall that we are unable to scale, nor has He called us to a battle that we are not sufficiently re-Sourced to wage. Any barriers we perceive are exactly that…our own perceptions, not realities. How do I know this? Because His Word has been proven to be true, time and time again. Therefore, THIS Word is true as well.

Father, we don’t need a VR experience to know that this world is all a ‘virtual reality.’ True Reality is found in YOU and You alone. Lord, once again I confess that I have let my heart believe the smoke-and-mirror show that the Enemy concocts and throws in front of me. Rather than be fed on Truth and be Sourced and re-Sourced by my generous, Almighty Commander, I have accepted the lies and limitations of the fear-full. I have feared the flesh; and rather than clinging to the true reality that I am Sourced by the Spirit I have allowed myself to be DE-sourced into mediocrity, ineffectiveness, and worry. I have feared “armies” comprised of my very own friends and family members.

I have encountered walls that I have never even attempted to scale.

Please forgive me, Father! Please restore me to Your will and path for me. Please give me the Christ-filled courage to accept the divine Commission of Purpose that You have ordained for me. Clear the fog from my eyes so that I will believe Spiritual Reality instead of virtual reality. In YOUR sufficiency and by Your Spirit, may I scale the walls that the Enemy throws in my way. May I, like a Centurian soldier, be bold enough to take on ANY army that would speak doubt into my ear, and quell their schemes in Your strength and with Your Word.

Oh, Father, make of me a Warrior of whom You can be proud! Make of me someone who is faithful rather than fear-full in the small tasks, so that I can become someone whom You trust with the big stuff. Abba, help me to WANT to be strong in You: to stand confidently, speak boldly, give generously, serve completely, and love fiercely regardless of the cost. Lord, by Your grace and first Your glory, make of me a mighty warrior. May I draw from You the courage to stand firm, fulfill my calling in Christ, and never, retreat.  May I always remember that, “With Your help I CAN advance against a troop; with my God I CAN scale a wall.”

    Warriors ADVANCE!
