    Slow Down!

    Monday, August 17, 2015

Doesn’t it seem like we are always on the fast track? No matter what we are doing, we are always on a schedule and in a rush. We constantly look at our watch and say, “Oh no, I’m going to be late, I must hurry.” Or as we are in the express lane at the grocery store and get behind the “Coupon Queen” we often tap our foot and wonder when in the world is she going to be finished? We are always in a hurry for the next thing.

I am so thankful God isn’t in a hurry and He has a plan that is perfect for us. He doesn’t have a watch or sit and tap his foot in hopes things will hurry.

    • It seems God is intent on slowing us down.
    • He gives us a Sabbath and we work through the weekend.
    • He gives us three meals a day to let us slow down and we pick fast food.
    • He gives us eight hours of sleep a night and we try to squeak by on far less.

God is okay with where you are right now. He’s not trying to get you out the door a few minutes sooner. The God who loves you is willing to give you the time you need. All of time belongs to Him and He is very generous with it.

And He’ll give it to your heart–as much as you need.

Let’s slow down enough to allow Him to give us what we need. Spend more time with Him this week. You may be surprised how much smoother things will go.

Help us continue providing resources of care for pastors and their families.
