    Perspective

    Wednesday, December 03, 2014

The following email from a pastor friend puts a lot of things in perspective, especially during this time of year. Some names and details have been removed to protect the team and persecuted believers.

We are so grateful for family and friends that pray. More important, we are grateful for a heavenly Father who hears and answers our prayers and knows our hearts. Please continue to pray for our son and the team as they have been going through significant challenges. AFG is a very dark place and in desperate need of the Gospel. The home and family that hosts a small, underground church where our son worships, was attacked on Saturday. (Our son was not there at the time). Sadly, the Dad and his two teenage kids were killed by insurgents. The Mom was not home, so her life was spared. PLEASE pray for our dear sister who lost her loved ones. Our son’s team is all safe and doing well…it is a blessing to have regular contact. Thankfully, God is sovereign and ALL is in His hands. In addition to the Lord’s protection, we are grateful for the six U.S. Special Forces who will be staying in the compound with the team until Christmas break. Lord willing, our son will be home for Christmas. Thank you for your faithful prayers. We love you and are grateful for each of you.
