    God is Not Like People

    Monday, December 11, 2023

God is not like people. People may find reasons to leave you or unfriend you, but God will never. God will never push you away. God will never avoid you. God will never forsake or abandon you. When we come to God with a sincere heart, we can trust that He will always listen and help. It doesn’t matter if you’re upset, frazzled, or have questions, doubts or fears. These won’t cause God to push you away. God can handle our emotions and struggles. He invites us to come as we are. Come weary. Come burdened. Come heavy laden. Come on behalf of that wayward child. Come broken. Just come. For when we do, we will find rest for our souls. We will find strength for the climb. Courage to face another day. We will find that God cares. Oh, how He cares.

Some are seeking God and not feeling His presence. They’re calling to Him and not seeing His hand at work. They’re praying for a miracle and doubting that God heard them. If that’s you, can you trust Him anyway? Can you believe in your heart that even though it’s dark and the road is long that God is with you? That you’re never alone or forsaken? That He’s working on your behalf? Can you see how far you’ve come, how far you’ve traveled and believe that God has got you to where you are? There were some days you thought you wouldn’t make it through and, yet, here you are. That was God giving you the strength to walk by faith and not by sight. That was God carrying you when you were too weak to walk. That was God breathing breath in you when the heaviness in your chest felt like the end was near. That was God holding you through another sleepless night. Look back and see that God has been faithful. And believe that He will continue to be faithful. You’re going to get through this and be all the wiser and stronger for it. You’re going to be closer to God and share your testimony to give others hope. You’re going to see the goodness of God in the land of the living. Just keep coming to God. He will never turn you away or let you down. Believe it.

“Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10 (NKJV)

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28 (NKJV)
