    Christ Arose

    Monday, April 03, 2017

    As we are approaching Easter this week, I pray the busyness of the activities you may be involved with (egg hunt, musicals, etc.) will not be a distraction in remembering what Christ did for us on the cross.

    Without the cross and resurrection, none of the things we are doing this week would matter. I love the old hymn “Christ Arose.” Some of you younger ladies may have never heard it, but I would encourage you to go to YouTube and search “Christ Arose” and you will find several different artists singing different arrangements, but the words still mean the same.

    Low in the grave He lay,
    Jesus my Savior,
    Waiting the coming day,
    Jesus my Lord!

    Chorus:

    Up from the grave He arose,
    With a mighty triumph o’er His foes,
    He arose a Victor from the dark domain,
    And He lives forever, with His saints to reign.
    He arose! He arose!
    Hallelujah! Christ arose!

    Vainly they watch His bed,
    Jesus my Savior;
    Vainly they seal the dead,
    Jesus my Lord!

    Death cannot keep its prey,
    Jesus my Savior;
    He tore the bars away,
    Jesus my Lord!

    Thank you, Jesus, praise you Lord! I pray this song will continue to ring in your mind and heart all week as you prepare for Resurrection Sunday.
