We are extremely grateful for the care we have received from you and Worthy Ministries. If not for that care, we would likely have dropped out of the ministry. When we contacted you, we were discouraged and hurt by our last ministry assignment. It had taken us months just to attend church again. We had spent all of my retirement just to survive, and still had no job after more than a year of searching. You and Worthy Ministries helped us with all of these challenges. You gave us a very generous gift to help us financially during our first meeting, simply saying, "You are worthy." After all of the vicious attacks we had suffered, I cannot describe what a blessing it was to hear someone say, "You are worthy." The counsel you gave my wife and I helped us sort through all of the spiritual and emotional pain we were going through and begin the healing process. We needed that care to be able to return to God's calling for us. You helped us get ready to march into battle, rather than limp along, bloody and broken. I highly recommend you and Worthy Ministries to my brothers in the ministry, who have been wounded on the spiritual battlefield and are in need of healing. Once again, we are extremely grateful for all you have done for us.

If it were not for "Worthy Ministries International" and Ron Cook, I most likely would have slipped deeper into my depression of feeling unworthy to continue in the ministry. God had called me to be in the ministry in some capacity in 1981 whether full-time or as a lay-pastor. After a Bachelor of Science Degree in Youth work in 88' and a Master's of Divinity in 94' I felt somewhat prepared to fulfill that calling. But after starting a church in my home town and watching 4 years of growth dissolve to a handful of people, I threw in the towel in 98'. I was hurting and began to hurt others. Even in 2000, when we moved to Florida to hide under my own rock of self-pity, I began to resurrect some self-destructive behaviors that were affecting not only others but my family also. I felt like the whole world had walked out...that's when Ron Cook and "Worthy Ministries" walked in.

Pastor Cook is a pastor to pastors. He has a heart for wounded pastors because he himself has gone through a gauntlet of trials in various churches. He reached out to Peg and me during a crucial time. With scarred hands that had experienced the healing of God's Word he lovingly invited us to be a part of Southpointe Baptist Fellowship. With his counsel from the Word and encouragement, in 2004, Peg and I sensed God throwing the towel back to us and saying, "You are Worthy" and I have plans for you. Today, God has allowed Peg and me to humbly work with Ron at Southpointe in Evangelism and Discipleship and be on the Board of Directories for "Worthy Ministries International." God led Peg and me to write a book called "Grounded for Growth" which helps believers to be established and be rooted in their faith so they can be spiritually fruitful and solid in the midst of a perverse world. If Ron was not used by God to reach out to us, we would not be reaching out to others to anchor them in their belief.

Speaking about the Pastor's and Wives Conference in November 2007: I want to tell you how much we enjoyed the conference - it was a breath of fresh air before getting back to the grindstone. The best thing for my wife and I was the much needed sleep...it was like gold to us. I think I could have listened to the speakers all day and night...they were challenging as well as encouraging. Just know that what you have done is not unnoticed by the Father, and the investment made will reap benefits for years to come and for the growth of the kingdom.

Another Pastor writes: We felt isolated when we were subjected to a "forced termination" from the church where I had pastored for 10 years. If we had dropped out of church and church work altogether no one but God would have noticed. I will be eternally grateful for your openness and genuine concern for us. I had earlier read about Worthy Ministries International's heart for hurting Pastors, and I knew it was a good ministry, but I never knew that it would impact my life. Most of us are not aware of the many Pastors and church staff who go through the kind of pain we encountered, and you are providing a stop gate that will give God-called men and women an opportunity to heal and return to the fields for His service.

My wife and I were exhausted, burned out, and had, in the last three years, some of the most difficult and hurtful experiences that we have ever encountered. We were in desperate need of help. Through Pastor Ron's ministry, we really sensed the Lord bringing healing, restoring our confidence in ministry, and in general preparing our hearts for the next step in God's kingdom building. His approach and wise counsel has played a major role preparing us for for the ministry in which we are now involved.
