We live in a society where communication is becoming increasing different: spontaneous, sophisticated, and, yes, even complicated. So many times within the mad rush of life, we over look or ignore the “simple things” that can teach us so much.
“Congratulations!
Today is your day.
You’re off to great places!
You’re off and away!”
Have you ever considered that “today” is a gift from God to you? Is it really so far fetched to believe that as a child of God my creative Father would design today with me in mind?
As I unwrap the gift of today, there will be unexpected treasures and surprises. Some I will be excited to find. Others will result in a moment of contemplation where I might find myself with a “that’s-not-what-I-expected” thought. The truth is everything about today is an exciting part of “my story.” The Heavenly Father who sees beyond the confines of today has orchestrated today to be for my good. Everything about today is for my good. “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28). Over the years I am learning “all” includes the things I don’t like as well as the things I don’t understand. My great creative Father has a purpose and plan for today. How I respond today will greatly impact the places I will go.
I am determined today will be a spring board to great places! Someone once said, “Our future dreams are bigger than our memories.” This type of thinking will take you and me to great places. Simple truth, just simple truth, but, oh, the freedom that it brings.
Q: What great surprise is Our Lord offering you today?
